Austin Psych Fest ~May 2nd – 4th~ Carson Creek Ranch

“Austin Psych Fest & The Reverberation Appreciation Society work to promote and create fertile ground for artistic expression through music and visual art, support homegrown businesses in Austin and beyond, and operate in an environmentally responsible manner. Austin Psych Fest will celebrate its 7th year on May 2-4, 2014, spotlighting the best new vanguards of mind expanding music and hosting legendary artists from around the world.”

Family Fun Festival ~May 4th~ 1-4pm Pauline Brown Clarksville Neighborhood Center

“The Clarksville Community Development Corporation is putting on the 6th Annual Family Fun Fest. This year’s Fest will feature a petting zoo, pony rides, bouncy houses, face painter, balloon clown, live music, kids’ performer Mr. Walter, silent auction, hook and ladder truck between 1 & 3, and a Flip Book Photo Booth.”

Old Pecan Street Festival ~May 3rd -4th ~ 6th Street

“The Pecan Street Festival, one of Central Texas’ oldest and most popular events, is a free two-day arts festival held each spring and fall in downtown Austin’s charming Sixth Street Historic District. On the first weekend of May and the last weekend of September, the street fills with hundreds of local and national artisans offering handcrafted creations in all sorts of two- and three-dimensional media. More than 60 of Austin’s finest musical acts bring three stages to life, and family-friendly activities from street magicians to a petting zoo delight both adults and children.”

Austin Restaurant Week ~May 11-14 and 18-21~ various locations

O Henry Pun-Off ~May 10th~ 409 E. Fifth St.

“Lend us and ear and we’ll give you more corn,” was how those who attended the first O. Henry Pun-Off World Championships were welcomed in 1977. Shucks! Now, 37 years later the Pun-Off continues to a-maize people with wacky wordplay and home groan wit from powerful punsters who are outstanding in their field.”

Lone Star Jam ~May 3rd and 4th~ LBJ Lawn (UT Campus)

“415 Productions and Texas Performing Arts present The 7th Annual Lone Star Jam at the LBJ Lawn on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin. The event will feature more than 20 bands and some of the best food trucks from Austin and the surrounding area.”
