Bluebonnet Season | April 2014 Calendar of Events


With Bluebonnet season upon us, the activities are moving outdoors. There never seems to be a shortage of events in Austin, and this month is no different. This April, enjoy traditional Texas music, art, a crawfish feed, comedy, the infamous Eeyore’s birthday party and more!

Texas VegFest ~April 5th~ Fiesta Gardens

Old Settler’s Music Festival ~April 10-13th~ Salt Lick Pavilion
“A nationally-known celebration of Americana and roots music in all its forms. The music continues nonstop for four straight days, with concerts, workshops, and impromptu jam sessions all day and throughout the night.”

Louisiana Swamp Thing and Crawfish Festival ~April 12th~ Austin American Statesman Lot
This annual Cajun Festival features zydeco, brass band, funk, blues, and rock music, and roughly 7,000 pounds of Crawfish will be given away!

Art City Austin ~April 12-13th~ Downtown Austin
“This is an iconic Austin weekend long arts festival that transforms the streets of downtown in a celebration of art, culture, and creativity.”

Moontower Comedy Festival ~April 23-26th~ Paramount Theatre
“This festival brings some of the funniest, wittiest and oddest world-class comics from around the globe. This marathon of side-splitting nights throughout the city is slated to bring over 100 comedians doing everything from stand-up and sketch to improv and musical comedy.”

Dripping Springs Founders Day Festival ~April 25-27th~ DT Dripping Springs
“The three-day celebration kicks off with the Grand Parade and includes: free music and entertainment on two stages, the Mighty Thomas carnival, food, beer, street dances, cook-off competitions, over 150 arts and crafts booths and business vendors, and the 5th largest washer pitching tournament in the country.”

Eeyore’s Birthday Party ~April 26th~ Pease Park
Dress in a costume and come celebrate the annual event that’s fun for all ages. This fundraiser benefits nonprofit organizations in Austin.
